I have seven years experience in academic research as a PhD candidate, research assistant and associate working in the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde. My work here was subject and impact focused. It was concerned with people’s everyday experiences of the urban environment and how these fed into and shaped public policy.

I have recently taken on a new professional challenge. During my time in university research I had a number of opportunities to take part in outreach projects aimed at high school pupils. I enjoyed this work very much. So much so I began a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) in September 2017. I have successfully completed this course and a subsequent probation year at Johnstone High.

I am very much looking forward to building my new career in secondary teaching here in Scotland.
